Choosing a Chess Set
Start with the space where you plan to play and store the set.
The Atlas is available in six open-board sizes, from
9.4 × 9.4 inches (24 × 24 cm) to 19.3 × 19.3 inches
(49 × 49 cm). Other models have a fixed size stated in their
specifications. Check the selected variant before ordering,
as dimensions can vary within a product listing.
A folding board closes in half after use. On models such as
the Atlas and Axiom, the closed board also serves as a storage
case for the pieces. Fixed boards, such as the Equinox and
Pandhess Mahogany, do not fold. Their pieces are stored in
drawers beneath the playing surface.
No. Magnetic pieces are specified for models such as the
Equinox and Atlas. If a product description does not state
that its pieces are magnetic, do not assume they are.
Magnets help limit unintended movement, but they do not lock
the pieces to the board. Keep the board horizontal during
a game and move it carefully.

Pieces and Storage
A standard complete chess set has 32 pieces: 16 for each side.
Some models include additional pieces. For example, the Pandhess
Mahogany set includes two extra queens, bringing its total to
34 pieces. Check the “What’s included” section for the exact
contents of the set you choose.
The Pandhess Mahogany set includes one additional silver-toned
queen and one additional copper-toned queen. Extra queens are
not included with every model, so check the individual product
description before ordering.
No. Some sets have fitted compartments inside a folding board,
while others have drawers beneath a fixed board. A set without
integrated storage requires the pieces to be stored separately.
The storage arrangement is stated in each product description.
Materials vary by model. The Pandhess Mahogany set has cast
metal pieces, while the Lumen has geometric crystal pieces.
Other sets are described by their finishes, such as light and
dark wood finishes or silver and copper tones. Where a piece’s
underlying material is not confirmed, we do not list one.

Care, Delivery and Returns
Wipe the board and pieces with a soft, dry or non-abrasive
cloth, as appropriate for the materials. Avoid abrasive
products and chemical solvents. Keep the set away from
prolonged exposure to moisture, direct sunlight and excessive heat.
Return the pieces to their fitted spaces before closing a
folding board or storage drawer. Lift a board by its base
rather than by a drawer. For a set without integrated storage,
remove and store the pieces separately before moving the board.

approximately 5–10 days. The total estimated delivery time is
6–12 days.
Yes. Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery, subject
to the applicable return conditions. The item must be returned
in the required condition and with all included components.
